Environment Variable Configurator

Edit user and system environment variables on Windows.

Environment Variable Configurator is a Windows desktop utility for viewing and editing environment variables and PATH entries. User-scope changes run without elevation. System-scope edits use an elevated administrator session of the same executable. Favourites and masking preferences stay in local metadata and never store variable values. Baker Utilities does not host your environment data.

My variables

Select a favourite to open the Edit variable pane beside the list, with name, value and scope including masked secrets with Reveal.

All variables

Browse User or System variables, select a row to edit its value, and add a variable or API token.

PATH editor

Edit User or System PATH folders in list or raw text mode; select an entry to move, browse or remove it.

Dark theme

Settings covers theme, Start Menu shortcut and Updates, including check and apply when a release is available.

Capabilities

  • Browse and edit user environment variables
  • Edit the User PATH with Undo and Redo for successful changes in the current session
  • Open an elevated administrator editor for system environment variables and the System PATH
  • Mark favourites and mask sensitive values in the UI without storing those values
  • Notify Windows after successful writes so newly started processes can see updated values
  • Run as a portable self-contained Windows x64 single-file executable with no separate .NET runtime install
