Lets a clipboard you brought along be brought back again, and makes the start-when-I-sign-in setting safer to turn on.
Highlights
- Bring it back. After bringing your clipboard to another account, you can now bring it straight back without copying it again. Before, User Switcher mistook it for something an app had marked private. Content an app really marks private, such as a password from a password manager, still stays behind
- Start when I sign in now registers its Task Scheduler task directly, without writing the task to a temporary file first, so nothing can change the task's command while it is being set up
- If your settings can't be saved, for example because a backup tool has the file open, User Switcher now tells you and keeps the change until it closes, instead of stopping
Requirements
- Windows 10 version 1809 or later (build 17763)
- 64-bit (win-x64) self-contained executable
- An administrator account for switching
- To bring the clipboard, User Switcher running in the other account, with this account in its list
Notes
Installed copies of 1.0.2 and later update from the tray as usual. Copies of 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 trust the previous signing key and cannot verify this update. To move them to 1.0.4:
- Download
UserSwitcher.exefrom this page. - Choose Exit on the User Switcher tray icon in the account you are signed in to.
- Run the downloaded file and choose Install User Switcher.
Your settings and saved accounts are kept, and copies running in other accounts restart on the new version by themselves.
This release is distributed as an unsigned executable. Verify the published SHA-256 checksum before running. Update trust comes from the separately signed stable manifest, not Authenticode on the executable.
